Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled a series of ambitious initiatives aimed at empowering the youth of Pakistan.
Speaking at a ceremony on Monday, the prime minister announced that one million students across the country would receive smartphones on merit, as part of the government's broader strategy to integrate technology into education and provide equal opportunities to all.
In addition to smartphones, the PM revealed plans to distribute laptops to students. The initiative is part of the government's commitment to bridging the digital divide and equipping the youth with the necessary tools to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
Highlighting the importance of agricultural development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also announced that students would be sent to China for higher education in agriculture. He added that This move is expected to boost the country's agricultural sector by bringing in advanced knowledge and techniques from one of the world's leading agricultural nations.
In a significant step towards enhancing the skills of the youth, he declared that 200,000 young people would receive free IT training annually. This initiative is designed to prepare Pakistan's youth for the demands of the global job market, particularly in the ever-expanding field of information technology.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also took a moment to acknowledge the achievements of Arshad Nadeem, the athlete who made Pakistan proud in the Olympics by clinching the country's first individual gold medal in track and field category. Shehbaz had the PM's Youth Programme applauded Nadeem's efforts.
Shehbaz Sharif concluded by announcing that a comprehensive five-year program focusing on youth development would be launched immediately after August 14.
