Lahore experienced major train delays on Thursday as heavy rain impacted travel schedules. The disruption has led to significant delays for several key train services:
- The Karakoram Express from Karachi was delayed by three hours and 25 minutes.
- The Karachi Express and Tezgam trains faced delays of 45 minutes each.
- The Green Line Express was held up for 50 minutes.
- The Allama Iqbal Express encountered a delay of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- The Jafar Express arrived in Lahore 1 hour and 15 minutes late.
The adverse weather conditions have caused widespread disruptions, affecting travelers and rail operations. Authorities are working to manage the situation and minimize further delays. Passengers are advised to check the latest train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly.

These delays come as torrential rainfall in Lahore broke a 44-year record, causing the popular highways to rivers and streams to be flooded. Tragically, a girl died, and five others were injured in two incidents of roof collapse. LESCO feeders also tripped due to the continuous rain. Offices and schools were closed to prevent damage caused by the heavy rainfall.
A few flights have been delayed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport amid the record rainfall. Pakistan International Airline (PIA) PK-229 to Muscat has been delayed while Air Blue flight PA-401 from Lahore to Karachi has also been delayed.
