Meteorological Department Director General Sahibzad Khan said a heavy spell of monsoon rain lashed Lahore today, however, the weather office predicted the rain two days ago.
“The 44-year-old record of rainfall has been broken in Lahore today,” director general of the meteorological department told media persons in Islamabad.
The director general said as per record, 332.5 mm of rain fell in Lahore in 1980 while on Thursday (Aug 1) 360 mm rain was recorded in Lahore city.
Keeping in view of the above statement, a question arises if heaviest downpour was predicted two days ago, then why the civil administration did not ensure the clearing of the chocking points of city.
