Renowned industrialist Zulfiqar Ahmed, who was abducted from Karachi on July 23, has contacted his family after five days of being missing. His lawyer, Ali Ashfaq, confirmed that Zulfiqar is safe and will soon be returning home.
Meanwhile, police have claimed that the missing businessman has returned home already.
According to Ali Ashfaq, he reached out to Zulfiqar Ahmed's father, Haji Riaz Ahmed, who is currently in Saudi Arabia, who also confirmed that his son would soon reach home safely. This communication has provided much-needed relief to the family, who have been anxiously awaiting news since the abduction.
Karachi DIG (South) Syed Asad Raza confirmed that Ahmed had reached his home in Lahore.
The incident, which occurred on Mauripur Road of Karachi, has left the business community and the public in shock. According to the police, a case was registered on the application of the manager of Zulfiqar Ahmed's textile mill, where he was last seen.

According to the FIR, Zulfiqar Ahmed was travelling to Clifton with a friend, Qaiser, from his textile mill when their vehicle was intercepted by a car without a number plate on Mauripur Road. Armed individuals forced both men into their car.
After travelling some distance, the kidnappers released Ahmed's friend but took Zulfiqar Ahmed with them. The plaintiff also mentioned that Ahmed's mobile phone has been continuously switched off since the incident.
In a related development, two senior employees of Zulfiqar Ahmed's factory, who were also allegedly kidnapped a day ago, have been traced. The company's management confirmed that they have established contact with Atif Afzal and Ameer Nawaz, the two senior workers. Both employees are confirmed to be safe and are expected to return soon.
