Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of National Assembly Asad Qaiser has addressed concerns over the potential ban on PTI, stating that the party remains unfazed by any government actions regarding the ban.
Speaking on Samaa TV program ‘Red Line with Talat,’ he emphasized that the planned protest on Friday will be peaceful and focused on key issues such as inflation, rising utility bills, and taxes.
Qaiser clarified that the protest’s primary goals include advocating for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and addressing the current political situation.
He expressed confidence that banning PTI would be politically detrimental to the government, asserting that such measures would only galvanize the party further.
Regarding the ban, the PTI leader questioned the government’s justification and stressed that party’s mandate remains strong, pointing to past electoral successes as proof of their continued political influence.
He criticized the idea of a ban as politically motivated and harmful, and stated that the party would not engage in any actions that contravene the law.
He highlighted PTI’s electoral victories, including Yasmin Rashid's win by 50,000 votes, and accused the government of attempting to silence the party.
Qaiser reiterated that securing the release of PTI’s founder is the party’s top priority, and they will seek justice through the courts, refusing to "beg" for his freedom.
The PTI leader also highlighted the importance of upholding constitutional supremacy, rule of law, and an independent judiciary, warning that the country could face greater instability if these principles are not respected.
He urged for a separation of politics from institutional roles, emphasizing that the party would seek justice through the courts rather than engaging in political conflicts.
