In a recent statement regarding the Bannu situation, the adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on information, Barrister Saif, reassured the public that the provincial government has taken effective measures to bring the situation under control.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was monitoring the situation personally and remains in constant contact with the administration and officials in Bannu.
He further said that thanks to the timely actions taken by the provincial government, peace and order have been restored in the region. On the chief minister’s orders, a jirga was formed, comprising district administration, political, and social leaders, which played a commendable role in stabilizing the situation, he claimed.
"The jirga played a commendable role in restoring peace," Saif stated.
In addition to the jirga, the adviser said the chief minister has announced the formation of a committee that includes political and social leaders, as well as administrative officials, to ensure all future law and order measures are taken in consultation with the public.
To address the recent incident in Bannu transparently, the chief minister has also ordered the formation of a commission, Saif said. This commission will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation and submit a detailed report, which will be made public. Legal actions will be taken against those found responsible based on the commission's findings.
Given the current wave of terrorism, Barrister Saif urged the public to exercise extreme caution. He emphasized the importance of not allowing anti-national and anti-people elements to exploit the situation and disrupt peace. The public is advised to remain calm and avoid spreading or believing unverified rumours and allegations until the commission’s report is released.
Barrister Saif also highlighted the need for the public to be vigilant against negative propaganda and to refrain from making emotional decisions that could play into the hands of those hostile to the nation and its people.
