The weather office said that rain is likely in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday along with expected rain showers in some places of eastern Balochistan.
It has rained with thunder in the Samahni area of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and its surroundings, heavy rain has continued for several hours in Koh-e-Sulaiman, Shirani, and Danasar.
Islamabad, Gujar Khan, Mianwali, Mandi Bahhuddin, Wazrirabad Jhelum Chiniot, and Khyber.
2 children die in roof collapse in Gujrat
The rain became a headache for the citizens of Gujarat as the performance of the district administration was exposed merely after one and a half hours of downpour.
The rainwater entered the houses of the citizens and two children died due to the collapse of the roof in the suburbs.
On the other hand, two children, identified as Owais and Halimah, were killed when the roof of their quarters collapsed due to rain in the suburbs of Gujarat.
Both children were siblings. The citizens have demanded from Punjab Maryam Chief Minister Nawaz that emergency measures should be taken for drainage of the city.
Gujrat city's main roads and streets showed scenes of rivers and canals and pounds as rainwater entered the houses of the citizens. SAMAA TV reported district administration and municipal corporation staff were absent.
Sialkot camouflages drowned
Monsoon rain spell drowned the main camouflages and low-lying areas of the Sialkot city. Several vehicles on the street drowned in rainwater that lashed the city on Thursday morning.
Several electricity feeders tripped after the monsoon rain spell. The citizens urged the Punjab government to ensure the smooth disposal of rainwater.
Rain in Karachi prediction
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain at a few places in Karachi, Thatta, Sajawal, Hyderabad, Dadu, Badin, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar and Nawabshah during this evening or night.
Flooding risk in KP
There is a risk of flooding in the local rivers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir and Mount Sulaiman due to heavy rain.
On Wednesday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 48 degrees Celsius in Turbat. Nokundi, Dalbandin, and Sibi recorded 46 degrees Celsius, Nawabshah recorded 44 degrees Celsius while Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bannu recorded 42 degrees Celsius.
Karachi, Multan, Muzaffarabad recorded 41 degrees, Peshawar 40 degrees, Islamabad, Lahore and Quetta 39 degrees, and Gilgit 35 degrees.
