The third death anniversary of Captain Basit Ali Khan, who was martyred in an anti-terrorist operation, is being observed today. Captain Khan was killed on July 13, 2021, during an operation against terrorists in the Ziwa area of Kurram District.
Captain Khan joined the Pakistan Army's Baloch Regiment after receiving his commission in April 2016. He was recognized as the best officer in the 2017 PACES competition.
During the operation in Kurram, Captain Khan eliminated three terrorists before being fatally shot in an intense exchange of fire. His mother, in a statement, expressed pride in her son's martyrdom, mentioning that he had always sought prayers for martyrdom.
Captain Khan's sacrifice is remembered as part of Pakistan's ongoing efforts against terrorism, with the nation acknowledging the contributions of its martyrs to national security.
