Mahmood Achakzai, leader of the Pashtun-Khawa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), has announced to move no-confidence motion against Speaker of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad flanked by leader of Opposition in National Assembly Umar Ayub, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, and Asad Qaiser, he said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Fazlur Rehman, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and the PTI founder chairman talk about the supremacy of the constitution.
Achakzai criticized the behavior of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, stating that it was inappropriate and warranted a no-confidence motion.
He emphasized the importance of upholding the supremacy of the constitution, as highlighted by leaders such as Fazlur Rehman, Nawaz Sharif, and the founder chairman.
Highlighting the significance of democracy in the parliament, the PKMAP leader pointed out that the parliament represents 240 million people and is the central hub for all of Pakistan’s policies.
He accused Ayaz Sadiq of being a facilitator and questioned why the IG Police and IG Jails were not presented in Parliament.
Achakzai also raised concerns about the legality of telephone tapping, questioning under which law such actions were permitted. He criticized what he called “Havaldar Ayaz Sadiq’s law” and reiterated his commitment to democratic principles and accountability within the parliamentary system.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan
On the occasion, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan criticized the current government for rushing through legislation without proper debate, stating that laws are being passed hastily. He noted that when the opposition attempts to raise a point of order, they are not given the opportunity to speak.
He highlighted that during a recent meeting, the agenda was left incomplete, resulting in a loss of 65 million rupees to the nation. He emphasized that Members of the National Assembly have the right to be heard.
The PTI chairman warned that if Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s attitude persists, the opposition will be compelled to take more drastic measures.

Meanwhile, former National Assembly Speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser condemned the ongoing campaign against the judges. He stated, “Our struggle will not end as a result of any pressure. We will fight according to the law and the constitution.” He also emphasized that “the constitution is not being implemented.”
