Four Indian soldiers were eliminated while six others sustained injuries during an attack in the Machhedi area of Kathua district.
The assault, reportedly carried out with grenades and automatic rifle fire by unidentified assailants, targeted Indian army vehicles in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the injured soldiers, including two in critical condition, were swiftly attended to following the ambush.
In response to the attack, Indian forces swiftly cordoned off the area, initiating a large-scale search operation that was ongoing as of the latest updates. Additional reinforcements were promptly deployed to bolster security measures in the region.
