Lahore and its neighbouring regions experienced a welcome respite from scorching temperatures as heavy rainfall drenched various localities, including Gulberg, Defence, Cantt, Johar Town, and Faisal Town.
The intermittent showers significantly cooled down the city, easing the intensity of the prevailing heatwave.
In Lahore, the temperature saw a noticeable drop to 37 degrees Celsius due to the sustained rainfall. The sudden change in weather brought relief to residents who had been enduring sweltering conditions for days.
Similarly, nearby areas of Lahore, including Ferozwala, Muridke, and Kasur also witnessed rainfall, transforming the weather from stifling heat to a pleasant coolness. Locals expressed gratitude for the refreshing change, highlighting the relief it brought from the oppressive heat.

In Kasur, heavy rain continued to pour, providing much-needed relief to residents who had been suffering from the heatwave's effects. While the rainfall was welcomed for its cooling effect, some areas experienced temporary electricity outages, a common occurrence during heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department forecast rainfall in select areas of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab today. In Islamabad, residents can expect hot weather during the day, with rain predicted at a few places in the evening.
Meanwhile, other parts of the country will continue to experience hot and dry conditions.
