The federal government has decided to give three holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. The prime minister has approved the summary for the Eid holidays.
Sources say that the official holidays would range from June 17 to 19. Moreover, since Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16 are already public holidays, there will be a total of five holidays on Eid-ul-Azha.
Earlier, the Cabinet Division had submitted a summary to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The proposal outlined granting Eid holidays from June 17 to 19.
This extended break aims to allow citizens to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with their families and communities without the pressure of returning to work immediately.

Meanwhile, all private schools, universities and nurseries in Dubai will be closed from Saturday, June 15 to Tuesday, June 18 for Eid-ul-Azha.
The UAE Knowledge and Human Development Authority announced it will reopen on Wednesday, June 19.
Dubai government announced the Eid Al Adha holiday for government employees, starting from Saturday, June 15, until Tuesday, June 18, with official work resuming on Wednesday, June 19.
The Federal Authority of Human Resources also announced Eid holidays for government.
Paid holidays will be given to employees in the UAE's public sector from Saturday, June 15, until Tuesday, June 18, in observance of Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha.
