The Punjab government has announced that public sector employees will receive their salaries in advance ahead of Eid ul-Adha 2024.
This decision, directed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to provide financial relief to government employees during the festive period.
The Finance Department has commenced preparations to ensure that salaries are disbursed by June 13, 2024. This initiative is expected to ease the financial burden on employees, enabling them to meet their Eid expenses amid rising inflation.
Eid ul-Adha, one of the major Islamic festivals, is marked by the sacrificial ritual of animals, commemorating the willingness of Hazrat Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah.
Traditionally, Muslims purchase goats, sheep, cows, and camels for sacrifice. Special markets are established for the sale of these animals, where buyers carefully select healthy specimens that fulfil religious criteria.
The sacrificial meat is divided into three parts: one portion for the family, another for relatives and friends, and the third for the less fortunate, emphasizing the values of charity and community.
