Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee convened on Friday, issuing a declaration that emphasized their stance against the decisions made by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and his members.
The meeting also marked the approval of a nationwide membership campaign aimed at bolstering the party's grassroots support.
The declaration highlighted several key points, including the committee’s call for the immediate release of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
The committee criticized the judicial process, stating that trials are being deliberately delayed through prolonged dates and that the recent decision to transfer the Iddat case to a new court is a serious mockery of justice.
The core committee expressed strong disapproval over avoidance to conduct of Bushra Bibi’s medical tests at Shaukat Khanum Hospital, labeling it as a matter of concern.
Furthermore, the committee unanimously rejected the appointment of retired judges for election tribunals, questioning the fairness and transparency of such appointments.
The nationwide membership drive approved during the meeting is set to revitalize PTI’s presence and engage supporters across the country. The core committee underscored the importance of this campaign in strengthening the party’s foundation and mobilizing its base ahead of future political challenges.
