Mirpur Mathelo Police Station in Ghotki registered an FIR of journalist Nasrullah Gadani's murder under the Anti-Terrorist Act after a hiatus of seven days on behalf of the mother of the slain journalist.
The family accused the journalist was shot dead for speaking the truth against the influential people of the area.
On May 21, three assailants riding on a motorbike targeted Gadani in Ghotki’s Mirpur Mathelo at a village called Korai Goth.
He was initially moved to a hospital in Rahim Yar Khan from where he was airlifted to Karachi, where he died during treatment at a private health facility on May 24.
Who was Nasrullah Gadani?
Nasrullah was affiliated with the Sindhi language daily Awami Awaz. He was president of the Mirpur Mathelo Press Club.
He was known for his new spot reporting by going live while motorcycling.
It is pertinent to note that Sukkur division police have so far failed to arrest the killers of another journalist Jan Mohammed Mahar, who was gunned down in Sukkur eight months ago.
