Eyewitnesses reported that the clash erupted when a group of extremists took offense at the decorations put up by Muslims to commemorate the occasion.
Expressing their disapproval of the decorations, the extremists resorted to violence, targeting Muslim women in particular.
The Muslim community had adorned their streets with colorful lights and decorations, including electric lanterns.
However, this act of celebration was met with hostility by a faction of Hindu extremists who vehemently objected to the display.
The situation escalated as the extremists attempted to forcibly remove the decorations, leading to a physical altercation between the two groups.
Reports indicate that the Muslim women were specifically targeted during the confrontation.
The police authorities were alerted to the incident and arrived at the scene shortly after the violence broke out.
They have since launched an investigation into the matter to determine the root causes and those responsible for the violence.
