Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed on Saturday their concerns about the violence in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and instructed the Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Hasan Ziagham to support Pakistani students.
Takking to X (formerly Twitter), the premier said: “I am deeply concerned about our students in Bishkek. I have told our ambassador to provide all necessary help.”
He also mentioned that his office is in regular contact with the embassy and is closely monitoring the situation.
Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz contacted the Pakistan's ambassador to Kyrgyzstan on telephone.
The premier directed that Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan be given all possible help and support during the current situation. He instructed the ambassador to personally visit the hostels and meet with the students.

The ambassador reported that no Pakistani student had died in the incident and that the embassy was assisting injured students. PM Shehbaz emphasised staying in constant contact with the students' parents and providing timely information.
He directed the embassy to ensure that injured students receive all necessary medical care. The prime minister also ordered immediate arrangements for the injured students who wished to return to Pakistan, with the government covering their travel expenses.
The premier was personally monitoring the situation in Kyrgyzstan and assured that Pakistani students would not be left alone during this time. He mentioned that the Pakistani government was also in contact with the Kyrgyz government.
Separately, Dar said: "The reports of mob attacks on students in the Kyrgyz Republic are extremely concerning. We have established contact with the Kyrgyz authorities to ensure the protection of Pakistani students. I have instructed our ambassador to Kyrgyzstan to fully facilitate them.".
