Reports have surfaced indicating that the Grade 9 computer science paper was leaked on social media platforms on the day of the examination.
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has found itself in a quandary, unable to confirm the authenticity of the leaked paper at this juncture.
A spokesperson for BSEK conveyed that investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether the circulating paper is indeed genuine or a fabrication. The uncertainty surrounding the situation has added to the anxiety of students and authorities alike.
The commencement of grade 9 and 10 examinations today has been marred by this unsettling development. In response, the BSEK chairman has issued a stern warning to students against bringing mobile phones into examination halls, emphasizing that any violations will result in confiscation of the devices.
In the ongoing examination process, science group papers are being administered during the morning shift, with general group papers slated for the second shift. The board's decision to conduct examinations in two shifts aims to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all students.
This year, BSEK introduced online admit cards, providing students with easier access to essential examination information, including their designated examination centers. Those who submitted their examination forms online can conveniently print their admit cards, facilitating a streamlined examination experience.
However, for students who missed the initial deadline for exam form submission, there is still an opportunity to do so until May 10, albeit with a late fee of Rs3,500. The spokesperson clarified that examinations missed during this period will be rescheduled and conducted at a later date to ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to administrative constraints.
As investigations into the alleged paper leak continue, BSEK remains committed to upholding the integrity and fairness of the examination process, ensuring that the academic pursuits of students are safeguarded against any irregularities or malpractices.
