In a bid to ensure the smooth conduct of matriculation and intermediate examinations, the Sindh government has enforced Section 144 across the province, including Karachi. The move aims to maintain order and security during the crucial examination period.
According to the notification issued by the Home Department, entry into examination centres will be restricted to authorized personnel only. Unrelated individuals will be barred from entering the premises to prevent any potential disruptions.
Additionally, students will be prohibited from using mobile phones or any other electronic devices during the exams. The exhibition of weapons and the operation of photocopy machines within the examination centres have also been banned, as per the notification.
Furthermore, senior superintendents of police across Sindh districts have been instructed to uphold strict security protocols during the examination period. This includes heightened surveillance and monitoring to deter any untoward incidents.
The decision to implement Section 144 was made on the recommendation of the Department of Universities and Boards.
