The Punjab Wildlife Department has made a breakthrough by seizing 200 rare turtles smuggled from Thailand at Lahore Airport.
Acting on a tip-off, authorities swiftly took action to intercept the illegal shipment of turtles.
These rare turtles, individually packed in groups of 100, were destined for Pakistan from Thailand. The Wildlife Department, upon receiving intelligence about the smuggling attempt, immediately coordinated efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and safeguard the endangered species.
Following the successful recovery of the smuggled turtles, the department has initiated legal proceedings and written to Customs authorities for the formal handover of the confiscated wildlife.
