Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi on Saturday decided to constitute a special protection force for the security of foreign nationals.
Naqvi chaired a meeting in Islamabad in connection with the law and order situation. On this occasion, Naqvi directed the use of modern technology to tighten the noose around the drug gangs.
“The sale of ice and other drugs outside the educational institutions will not be tolerated. The drug dealers are against the country’s prosperity and uplift,” he said.
Shedding light on the the first information reports (FIRs), Naqvi also directed to ensure the registration of the FIRs at any cost. He made it clear that action would be taken against the concerned police officers for not registering the FIRs.
The interior minister had summoned the comprehensive plan in a bid to address the traffic issues in the federal capital city.
Naqvi had also asked to wrap up the promotion case of the Islamabad police as soon as possible and fill the vacant posts.
He had also hinted at equipping Islamabad Safe City with modern requirements on the pattern of Lahore Safe City.

According to details, the special teams consisting of officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the anti-corruption Wing have been formed.
In order to save electricity consumers from overbilling during the summer, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi himself has taken action.
While issuing directives for investigations against overbilling companies, the interior Minister has formed special teams of the FIA, which include officials from the Anti-Corruption Wing and other senior officers.
FIA officers will monitor the billing and electricity theft of every electricity distribution company. Adil Khan Niazi has been appointed as the focal person for Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO).
