Iran has warned Israel of a larger attack should it retaliate against Tehran’s overnight drone and missile attack, adding that it has also warned Washington not to back Israeli military action.
Iranian armed forces chief of staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri tells state TV, “Our response will be much larger than tonight’s military action if Israel retaliates against Iran."
Tehran also warned Washington that any support for Israeli retaliation would result in the targeting of US bases.

Hossein Salami, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also issued a warning, saying Tehran would strike back at any Israeli attack on its government, people, or interests.
US President Joe Biden reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US would not support any counterattack on Iran, according to media reports citing senior administration officials.
According to CNN and Axios, the two exchanged the message over the phone.
According to Axios, Biden assured Netanyahu that the US would retaliate against any Israeli attack. Biden stated, according to CNN, that the US would not participate in any such counteraction.
