Pakistani actress Nawal Saeed has addressed the recent controversy surrounding her remarks about receiving messages from cricketers, particularly Shoaib Malik, in a candid statement shared on Instagram.
In her story update, she urged individuals to refrain from spreading baseless rumors, emphasizing the importance of exercising restraint over one's words and actions, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Bikhray Hain Hum actress stressed the need for awareness regarding the potential harm caused by sensationalizing trivial matters for mere social media traction, particularly when it involves falsely implicating individuals.
She clarified that while she did mention receiving messages from Pakistani cricketers in a previous show, no specific names were disclosed, and controversial questions were tactfully avoided.
Furthermore, the Jaan-e-Jahan actress exonerated cricketer Shoaib Malik from any involvement in the controversy, affirming that his name was not mentioned in the said show.
During a recent interview, Nawal Saeed reiterated the authenticity of her previous statement but refrained from directly acknowledging Malik when prompted by the host.
"I understand the curiosity surrounding celebrities," Saeed continued, "but it's crucial to respect people's privacy. Making assumptions based on incomplete information can be hurtful."
