Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan said on Thursday that the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) provides opportunities to local and foreign investors.
Aleem Khan presided over a meeting of the Privatisation Commission Board in Islamabad. "The importance of the investment will be increased following the restructuring of the PIA."
Khan said, "Most of the institution's liabilities have been removed from the balance sheet."
"Hopefully, the traders’ community will also express their willingness to acquire the national airlines," he added.
– Aleem Khan, Awais Leghari resolve to speed up process for privatisation of Discos –
Few days back, Aleem Khan and Power Minister Awais Leghari on Friday resolved to speed up the process and action for the privatisation of the distribution companies (Discos).
Aleem Khan called on Leghari in Islamabad. On this occasion, matters in line with the privatisation of the various projects of Discos and IPPs were discussed.
Both federal ministers will look to finalise the action for privatisation soon through the partnership of the concerned departments.
Moreover, Aleem Khan had vowed to extend full support to Leghari in this regard.
