A devastating hailstorm struck Sibi overnight, severely damaging wheat and cotton fields, and plunging farmers into despair as their hopes for a successful harvest were shattered.
Thousands of acres of wheat crops in Dehpal Kalan, Kurak, Marghzani, Talli, and Khajjak have suffered extensive damage due to the hailstorm. The once-promising wheat fields now lie flattened, with the ready crop destroyed beyond salvage.
The calamity has dealt a severe blow to farmers who were already grappling with challenges in cotton production. "Cotton production has already been negligible," a farmer lamented.
With their hopes pinned on the wheat crop, the sudden devastation has left them reeling, unsure of how to recover from the significant losses incurred. "The hope was on the wheat crop, but now that too has been destroyed," another farmer complained.
Expressing their anguish, farmers lamented the adverse effects of the weather on their livelihoods. The hailstorm not only destroyed their crops but also dashed their hopes for a successful harvest season, leaving them with uncertainty about their future prospects.
