Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has brought attention to a concerning issue involving the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the judiciary, highlighting the staggering amounts awaiting court proceedings.
In his latest Tweet, he emphasized the urgent need for judicial intervention, revealing that a significant sum of Rs 742 billion is pending resolution at the Supreme Court, while an additional Rs 1700 billion awaits adjudication in tribunals.
Expressing his longstanding concern, Asif mentioned raising the issue in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) several years ago.
He expressed determination to uncover the origins of this ongoing problem, hinting at systemic issues involving collusion between FBR, tax defaulters, and the judiciary.

However, he emphasized that honesty and patriotism are essential in resolving these challenges, urging for a collective effort to tackle the issue effectively. Asif's remarks shed light on a critical issue demanding immediate attention and concerted action for the betterment of the nation.
