The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched five inquiries on Friday against the overbilling.
According to sources, the FIA Lahore, while launching inquiries against overbilling, has summoned the records of bills from numerous divisions from the LESCO.
During the inquiry, the bills of the public institutions are being checked exclusively.
The FIA has made it clear that action will be taken against sub-divisional officers (SDOs) and other concerned authorities if overbilling is done.
– FIA tightens noose around human traffickers –
Separately, the FIA tightened its noose around the human traffickers on Thursday.
According to details, the FIA raided the travel agency at Main Boulevard Gulberg. During the raid, the FIA nabbed two accused, Mubashir and Ibrahim, for involvement in human trafficking and visa fraud.
The FIA seized dozens of fake passports and visa stickers from their possession. Moreover, it was reported that the accused were involved in plundering money from the citizens.
The accused were unable to satisfy the FIA over the documents. The FIA had launched an inquiry against the accused.
Separately, the anti-corruption department in Lahore arrested red-handed revenue on the charge of taking a bribe from a citizen.
On the other side, on the instructions of Collector Mateen Alam, under the supervision of Deputy Collector Ali, smuggled wax and Iranian plastic grains were seized.
More than 600 drums of petroleum wax worth millions of rupees were also seized.
The contraband was hidden in a large warehouse.
