In the first eight months of the current financial year, rice exports in the country have recorded a growth of 85.83% on an annual basis.
The country received $2.517 billion in foreign exchange from rice exports between July 2023 and February 2024, which is 85.83% more than the $1.354 billion received during the same period in the previous fiscal year, according to data available from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
According to the data, 3.932 million metric tonnes of rice exports were recorded in the first eight months of the financial year, which was 2.546 million metric tonnes in the same period of the previous financial year.
The country earned $539.42 million in foreign exchange from its export, which is 38.43% higher than the same period of the previous financial year.
In the same period of the last fiscal year, the country earned $386.88 million from the export of 366,210 metric tonnes of basmati rice. The country earned $2.180 billion from the export of other types of rice, which was $967.87 million in the same period of the last fiscal year.
