The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is looking into claims that Sussex bowler Ari Karvelas used offensive language towards Pakistani cricketer Umar Amin.
The incident was reported during a County Championship match Pakistani batter was part of.
Umar Amin - who previously represented Pakistani batter who represented in Test matches and ODIs until January 2018 - was signed by Leicestershire during the last week of August for their County Championship campaign.
He holds an impressive average of 41.13 in first-class cricket.
Reports from The Times suggest that Ari Karvelas from Sussex made a derogatory comment to Umar Amin after he was dismissed in the second innings. He said, "Send him back to the village he came from."
Umar Amin had scored 94 runs off 185 deliveries in the final innings but Sussex won dramatically by just 15 runs.
It was the same match for which Sussex County Cricket Club captain Cheteshwar Pujara faced one-match suspension by the ECB due to a conduct violation.
Meanwhile, Sussex also took action against three players, Jack Carson, Tom Haines, and Ari Karvelas, because their behaviour during the recent match against Leicestershire was seen as unacceptable by the head coach, Paul Farbrace, as per ESPN cricinfo.
The ECB has acknowledged these allegations and is currently conducting an investigation. After the inquiry is concluded, the cricket board will decide if any disciplinary action should be taken against Karvelas.
