The absence of support from male members of the British royal family for Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, amidst a recent controversy over a manipulated photograph, has become the talk of the town.
Despite her role as a prominent figure within the monarchy, Kate faced significant backlash after the photo editing incident, with the AFP withdrawing trust in Kensington Palace,
CNN reviewed previous images supplied by the palace, and Instagram added a warning to the controversial photo.
Royal commentator Daniela Elser said despite being the one to take the photo, Prince William remained notably absent from public support, leaving Kate to issue an unprecedented apology alone.
King Charles, amidst his health challenges, refrained from offering visible support.
He wrote: "You and I should, by rights, know all about Queen Jane. She was the woman who, depending on which historian you ask and how close to lunch, was meant to be England’s first regnant Queen – that is, who ruled in her own right.
"Instead, nine days after the 17-year-old was forcibly pushed onto the throne by her father-in-law, the Duke of Northumberland, something Lady Jane never actually wanted herself, she was forced to relinquish it and was duly executed.
"At the end, even her father had abandoned her cause," he said.
