Borussia Dortmund's upcoming clash with Eintracht Frankfurt this Sunday might miss the spark of their in-form forward Jadon Sancho due to a hamstring concern, as confirmed by coach Edin Terzic on Friday.
Sancho, who returned to Dortmund on a six-month loan from Manchester United, has been instrumental lately, finding the net in his last two outings. After a stint at Manchester United that left him discontented, Sancho seems to have rediscovered his form, scoring his first goal since May 2023 in the recent 2-1 victory against Werder Bremen.
His prowess continued in the Champions League, where he netted again in Wednesday's 2-0 triumph over PSV Eindhoven, propelling Dortmund into the last eight.
However, Sancho's participation in Sunday's game is uncertain after being substituted off in the PSV clash with 15 minutes remaining due to injury. Despite concerns, Terzic assured us on Friday that "on Thursday we did some tests, and thank God it's nothing big." Nonetheless, Sancho will undergo individual training sessions, and his availability for Sunday will be assessed accordingly.
Terzic remained optimistic, suggesting, "Even if he's missing (on Sunday), it won't be for long."
With nine matches left this season, Dortmund currently hold fourth place, just one point ahead of RB Leipzig, intensifying the importance of every player's contribution in the run-in.
