Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday finalised an extensive economic roadmap spanning the next five years aimed at propelling the nation towards robust development and stability.
The premier convened high-level meeting today, during which he stressed the paramount importance of inclusive consultation with stakeholders across diverse sectors of the economy to ensure effective implementation of the proposed plan.
He underscored the necessity of crafting an implementation schedule to expedite the execution of various projects aimed at enhancing the developmental capacity of both small and large-scale industries.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Sharif articulated a firm commitment towards prudent fiscal management, stressing the imperative of curbing government expenditures to prevent the squandering of resources belonging to the nation's most vulnerable segments.
He pledged to usher in a new era of economic stability and growth, assuring that the forthcoming five years would witness a concerted effort towards fiscal discipline and efficiency.
In line with the roadmap, measures are set to be prioritised to boost revenues through the adoption of digitization and innovative strategies, while simultaneously fostering advancements in agricultural practices to elevate production yields per hectare.
Notably, plans for the privatisation of certain sectors were also unveiled as part of the government's overarching strategy to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
PM Shehbaz also directed concerned authorities to orchestrate a thorough consultation process involving all stakeholders to refine and finalise the proposed measures, ensuring that the roadmap is aligned with the aspirations and needs of the nation at large.
