Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan urged on Thursday to expedite the privatisation process of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), citing the national carrier as a lucrative investment opportunity for potential buyers.
Minister Abdul Aleem Khan chaired a high-level consultative meeting, which was attended by key stakeholders and officials, and featured a comprehensive briefing by the financial advisor consortium led by Ernst & Young on the progress made thus far and the future roadmap for the privatisation of PIA.
During the huddle, Mr Aleem Khan lauded the efforts and progress achieved in the privatisation process, while also stressing the need for swift action to capitalise on the investment potential presented by PIA.
Highlighting the significance of PIA's privatisation, Minister Abdul Aleem Khan directed all concerned authorities to adhere to the timelines set forth for the privatization process.
He also commended the Privatisation Commission for its diligence in facilitating the restructuring and segregation plan approved by the Cabinet.
"It is imperative that we expedite the privatization process of PIA, considering the immense investment opportunity it presents for potential buyers," remarked Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.
"With its rich legacy and operational capacity, PIA holds substantial promise for investors, and it is our responsibility to ensure a seamless transition towards privatization."
