President Asif Ali Zardari lauded on Thursday the recent meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
In a statement, President Zardari expressed his support for initiatives aimed at healing the longstanding divisions within Pakistan.
"It is high time we start thinking of working towards healing the divisions Pakistan has been going through," remarked the President, emphasising the importance of prioritising the nation above all else.
"This outreach is a good beginning," he remarked.

The positive development comes in the wake of KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's recent meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, marking a notable thaw in relations.
Despite initially declining invitations to attend the oath-taking ceremonies of the premier and the president, CM Gandapur extended an olive branch during the meeting, pledging to work together towards resolving the issues faced by the people of KP.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed CM Gandapur, emphasizing the importance of unity among all federating units. Senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), including Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar, Amir Muqam, and Ahsan Iqbal, were also present, underscoring the collective commitment to national harmony.
Assuring the KP Chief Minister of the federal government's support, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged to address the genuine demands of the province amidst the ongoing economic challenges.
"We have to resolve all problems together," affirmed the Prime Minister, signaling a collaborative approach towards tackling issues of national significance.
