Following a disturbing physical bout between popular YouTubers Sagar Thakur, also known as Maxtern, and Elvish Yadav, and a case registered against the latter, Yadav has come forward to present, what he calls, the other side of the story.
The fight
The conflict between the two social media personalities ignited when Sagar Thakur mocked Elvish Yadav on social media, labeling him a "hypocrite" over his photograph with Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Munawar Faruqui, who has faced controversy and arrest in 2021 for alleged remarks about Hindu deities.
The situation escalated when the two individuals met in Gurugram around midnight. Subsequently, Sagar Thakur, in a video he shared a couple of hours later, claimed to have been assaulted by Elvish Yadav and a group of 8-10 individuals. Thakur shared videos on social media, showcasing the alleged assault at a garments shop, further intensifying the public outcry.
An FIR has been registered in Gurugram's Sector 53 against Elvish Yadav under IPC sections 147, 149, 323, 506 for assaulting and threatening to kill Sagar Thakur (Maxtern).Legal action is underway. #ElvishYadav #DelhiPolice

In the clip, Elvish Yadav could be seen entering a shop with several men, who all then assaulted Thakur. The two then get into a fight and later talk about something, after which Yadav can be seen leaving the store.
The FIR
Later, an FIR was lodged against Yadav under IPC sections 147, 149, 323, and 506 at the Sector 53 police station in Gurgaon.
The police claimed that Thakur was assaulted by Yadav around 12.30am on March 8. “It was at a shop owned by Yadav’s acquaintance… the moment he came in, he started beating Thakur up.”
Sagar Thakur, aka Maxtern, stated in his complaint, “With over 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube, 8.5 lakh followers on Instagram, and 2.4 lakh followers on X, I have garnered recognition and accolades in the gaming community for my entertainment-based content.”
The complainant further alleged that over the last few months, Elvish’s fan pages have “spread hate”, which have caused him distress. “I was asked by Yadav to meet but I thought it would be a verbal discussion. When he came to the store, he and his 8-10 goons, who were drunk, started beating me and using abusive language. Elvish Yadav tried to break my spine…,” he alleged further.
Elvish's response
In response to the accusations, Elvish Yadav posted a video on Instagram on Saturday, refuting the claims of assault and instead accusing Sagar Thakur of threatening his family. In an Instagram story, he wrote: "Ek sikke ke 2 pehlu, usne apni side rakhdi, ab thodi main kehlu (There are two sides to every coin. He presented his side, now let me tell you my side)."

He also claimed to the Indian media that Thakur threatened to kill his family.
Maxtern's statement:
Sagar Thakur (Maxtern) has called for non-bailable charges to be filed against Elvish Yadav, alleging attempted murder. In a statement shared on social media, he alleges that he was "brutally attacked and assaulted" by Elvish Yadav, who "openly issued death threats" to me.
"All the evidence is available on the internet. But, When I went to the police station to file an FIR, the SHO lodged it under IPC 147, 149, 323, and 506. Unfortunately, these are bailable sections, and despite clear evidence of an attempt to murder, no non-bailable charges were included. Why haven't murder charges been included in the FIR? Is this due to the influence of money and support from the state government? Is the Haryana government potentially protecting a criminal? I request @DC_Gurugram, @gurgaonpolice, @anilvijminister, @mlkhattar to register an FIR against Elvish with a non-bailable section for an attempt to murder and #ArrestElvishYadav."
He also insisted that if anything “unfortunate” happened to him in the future, Elvish Yadav should be held responsible.
As the investigation continues, the online community awaits further developments in this unfolding saga, with concerns for the well-being of those involved and the broader implications for social media interactions and influencer culture.
