Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir paid a visit to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House to extend his felicitations on assuming office and convey his best wishes.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around critical professional and security issues concerning the Pakistan Army. The exchange underscored the importance of close coordination and collaboration between the military and civilian leadership in addressing the nation's security challenges and advancing its interests.

The meeting between General Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif highlights the ongoing efforts to strengthen the relationship between the government and the armed forces, emphasizing the mutual commitment to safeguarding Pakistan's sovereignty and ensuring its security.
Immediately after the meeting, the PM left for Peshawar where he is expected to meet with the families affected by the torrential rains and snowfall. He would also distribute compensation cheques among the affectees. Shehbaz is also scheduled to meet with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the military’s top brass expressed dismay over certain vested elements who created political instability and uncertainty by scapegoating others for their failings. The concern was expressed during the 263rd Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, which was presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.
The military top brass also highlighted commitment to supporting the government in combating security threats and promoting socioeconomic growth in the country.
