Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram has said that the country is facing serious security threats from the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and its affiliated organisations.
Addressing the UN Security Council UNAMA briefing on Afghanistan, Munir Akram said there were numerous terrorist groups in the country, which were supported by the interim Afghan government.

Pakistan is facing cross-border terrorism due to which numerous of its citizens and soldiers had lost their lives. He further told the gathering that the terrorist organizations were involved in organized terrorism in Pakistan.
“This is a complex and constant challenge for Pakistan. These organizations now have modern weapons. The United Nations should investigate whether the modern military weapons. How did they get their hands?” he stressed.
