The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the OGDCL spokesperson, the new gas and condensate reserves were found in the Bettani-2 well, marking the first hydrocarbon discovery in the Samanasik Formation of the Wali Block.
Initial production from the Bettani-2 well is expected to yield 2.114 million cubic feet of gas and 74 barrels of crude oil per day.
Terming the discovery as a major milestone, the OGDCL spokesperson highlighted its importance in furthering energy exploration efforts in the region.
Following this success, the company is now planning to drill additional wells in the Wali Block to potentially unlock more reserves.
