The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $200 million loan to modernize Pakistan's power distribution infrastructure.
The project aims to install over 300,000 advanced metering systems and enhance data management and communication networks.
The initiative will include monitoring systems for 15,500 transformers and upgrades to voltage levels at SEPCO grid stations. In LESCO, 25 grid stations will be constructed or modernized with advanced equipment. The program will reduce power losses, improve demand management, and strengthen revenue security, contributing to resolving Pakistan’s energy sector challenges.
