In a video statement released Monday, Kate Middleton - the Princess of Wales - revealed that she has completed her chemotherapy treatments and is now focused on staying cancer-free.
The announcement came via the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, featuring clips of Kate, Prince William, and their children enjoying time outdoors with Kate's parents.
"As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," Kate Middleton shared in her statement. She described the past nine months as "incredibly tough" for her family, acknowledging the sudden and profound changes that come with such a serious illness.

The Princess of Wales first disclosed her cancer diagnosis in March, revealing that she began chemotherapy in late February. This followed a planned abdominal surgery in January, during which cancer was discovered. The decision for preventive chemotherapy was made subsequently.
Kate's statement provided a glimpse into her journey through cancer. She noted that the experience is "complex, scary, and unpredictable," offering a humbling confrontation with one's own vulnerabilities. "This time has, above all, reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted," she said, emphasizing the value of love and being loved.
Looking ahead, Kate expressed her commitment to continuing her recovery, acknowledging that while chemotherapy has ended, the path to full healing remains long.
She is eager to return to her public duties, having made only a few appearances this year, including at Trooping the Colour in June and Wimbledon with Princess Charlotte in July.
Kate concluded her message with gratitude for the support she and her family have received. "Everyone's kindness, empathy, and compassion has been truly humbling," she said.
