Pakistan Railways has announced to restoration of Sir Syed Express which would be operational from Karachi Cantonment and Rawalpindi.
As per the notification, the train will be restored from September 1.
Earlier, Pakistan Railways announced a significant reduction in fares for all classes of passenger trains, effective from Saturday, August 3.
In the new fare structure, AC class tickets have seen a decrease ranging from Rs100 to Rs150, providing substantial savings for passengers travelling in the higher class. Meanwhile, economy class fares have been reduced by Rs50, making train travel more affordable for a larger segment of the population.
This fare reduction applies to all passenger trains operating nationwide, aiming to encourage more people to utilize railway services and ease the financial burden on regular commuters.
A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways stated, "The decision to reduce fares is part of our ongoing efforts to make train travel more accessible and affordable for everyone. We hope this initiative will not only benefit our passengers but also boost the overall usage of our rail services."
The new fares will come into effect on Saturday, August 3, and passengers are encouraged to take advantage of the reduced rates for their travel plans.
