The Sindh Department of College Education has announced an extension of summer vacation due to the ongoing heat wave and anticipated rains, with holidays now set to continue until August 14.
A notification issued by the Sindh College Education Department confirmed the decision, which was directed by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah. The move aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students amid extreme weather conditions.

The minister had said: "In view of the possibility of heat and rain, it was decided to extend the holidays."
Educational activities are scheduled to resume on August 14, coinciding with Independence Day celebrations.
Sardar Shah added that all the activities related to Independence Day on August 14 would continue. "Private and government schools will conduct programs on Independence Day," he said.
After the holidays, the new academic year in Sindh would begin from August 15, the minister stated.
The original summer break spanned from June to July 31. However, in light of the extreme weather conditions, the authorities have deemed it necessary to prolong the holidays to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
