On June 20, 2024, militants abducted ten unarmed civilians from Shaban Picnic Point, a recreational area in Balochistan. Six of the abductees belong to a single family from Quetta.
Sheikh Shan Raza, a resident of Quetta, reported that among the kidnapped were his three sons: Farhan Raza, Hassan Raza, and Rehan Raza. The group also included Raza's nephew and two guests visiting their home.
According to Raza, the militants checked the identification cards of the victims before taking them away. The abductees were young men engaged in various small jobs to earn their livelihood.
As of the report, 26 days have passed since the incident, with no success in recovering the abducted individuals. The families of the victims have appealed to the government to intensify efforts for the safe return of their loved ones.
