Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that they will strongly protest against the postponement of the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that they will fight for the protection of the Constitution.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, the chief minister said the Constitution was being repeatedly violated. "We will fight for the protection of the Constitution," he asserted, adding that illegally elected members on reserved seats had filed an application for a delay in the Senate polls.
"We will record a strong protest against postponing the elections. The PTI founder has taught one thing: we will fight!" he stressed, adding that 25 members had been given seats illegally by the election commission.
Gandapur remarked that protection of the Constitution was the duty of every citizen, adding that the Constitution was being repeatedly violated in the country.
He recalled that the PTI dissolved its governments in both Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after which the Constitution clearly says elections must be held in 90 days. "Our reserved seats were not allocated to us. By making our election controversial, our election symbol was taken away from us," he reminded.
The KP CM, however, insisted that this whole system would be exposed one day. "We will not back down, and fight! We will not let the illegally elected members take oath. We will fight till the last ball."
