The Punjab police successfully thwarted another terrorist attack in the DG Khan district of Punjab in a significant security operation on Saturday.
According to details, the attack, orchestrated by foreign extremists, was neutralised by the police after intense confrontations. Meanwhile, according to the Punjab police spokesperson, two terrorists were killed during the clash.
The SHO and his team pursued the attackers, who were armed with hand grenades and heavy weaponry.
Despite the extremists' aggressive tactics, including grenade explosions and gunfire, the police managed to repel the attack. The firefight resulted in damage to a bulletproof vehicle used by the police.
The spokesperson revealed that intelligence agencies had provided critical information about the terrorists' plans to target a sensitive location.
Following this tip-off, a coordinated response was initiated to prevent any potential damage.
Meanwhile, the SHO, alongside his team, demonstrated commendable bravery in tracking down and engaging the terrorists.
The attack was the fourth unsuccessful attempt by extremists in the region, reflecting the ongoing threat and the determined efforts of law enforcement to safeguard the area.
The Punjab IGP lavished his praise on the officers for their swift action and professionalism. He made it clear that the police are committed to preventing any further infiltration by terrorists into Punjab.
Meanwhile, a comprehensive search and sweep operation is currently underway in the area to ensure the safety and security of the region.
