Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community, emphasizing unity, tolerance, and mutual respect.
Speaking at a special Christmas celebration held at the Prime Minister's House, the premier reaffirmed his government’s commitment to interfaith harmony and the welfare of minority communities in Pakistan.
“On behalf of my government and the people of Pakistan, I extend warm Christmas greetings to our Christian brothers and sisters,” Shehbaz said. He highlighted the shared values between Muslims and Christians, noting, “As Muslims, we revere Prophet Isa (PBUH) as a prophet of Allah and a symbol of peace.”

Addressing the tragic situation in Palestine, the PM called for a united global effort to end the bloodshed. “The birthplace of Hazrat Isa (PBUH) is engulfed in violence. Thousands of Palestinians have been martyred. A ceasefire is the need of the hour,” he urged.
Shehbaz Sharif also praised the contributions of the Christian community in Pakistan, stating that their role in various fields would be "written in golden letters". Recalling his own education at a missionary school, he expressed gratitude to his teacher, Madam Powell, for her role in shaping his values.
"We have to contribute to the country's development and prosperity together. Together, everyone will make Pakistan great," the PM vowed.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and other political and religious leaders also attended the ceremony. Tarar lauded the Christian community's significant contributions to Pakistan’s progress and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to interfaith harmony.
"I represent 70,000 Christian community members in my constituency," Tarar remarked.
He acknowledged the important role of the Christian community in moving Pakistan forward, adding that PM Shehbaz Sharif had, as the chief minister, taken steps for the Christian community. He further noted that steps were being taken towards interfaith harmony.
