The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wildlife department has granted conditional permission for the hunting of the Russian dove within the province.
According to the department’s official announcement, the hunting fee has been set at Rs 25 per bird. Under the issued guidelines, licensed hunters may hunt Russian doves only until 31 October, and solely on three days of the week: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A fine of Rs5,000 per bird will be imposed for exceeding the limit of eight birds. Immediate action will be taken against individuals who engage in hunting outside the designated days or without a valid licence.
Hunting before sunrise and after sunset is also strictly prohibited.
