Sufiyan Muqeem’s five-for and others’ bowling brilliance stormed Pakistan to emphatic 10-wicket victory against hosts Zimbabwe at the Queen Sports Club in Bulawayo on Tuesday.
Chasing a 58-run target, openers Saim Ayub (36) and Omair Yousuf (22 off 15) remained unbeaten and finished the equation neatly. Saim clobbered six boundaries and one six in his 18-ball 36.
Omair smashed two boundaries and one six in his 15-ball 22.
Zimbabwe bowlers had no answers whatsoever and none of them could took a scalp.
Youngster Sufiyan Muqeem (5-3) and other bowlers’ brilliant run helped Pakistan bundle out Zimbabwe on merely 57 inside the 13th over.
There was nothing special from the Zimbabwe’s batters, with the exception of their openers. Zimbabwe faced sudden collapse in their batting after openers Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani stitched 37-run partnership against Pakistan.
After opting to bat first, Zimbabwe looked to mount pressure on the visitors. But Abbas Afridi took a wicket of Marumani, who was looking good before he was undone on 14-ball 16, studded with three boundaries. The wicket of Marumani started the slide and it went quickly downhill thereafter.
Brian Bennett was looking good on 14-ball 21, clobbering three boundaries and one six.
Dion Myers (3), Sikandar Raza (3), Ryan Burl (1), Clive Madande (2), Ryan Burl (1), Tashinga Musekiwa could not managed to show significant resistance with the bat.
