Pakisatan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Mehr Mukhtar on Sunday decided to withdraw from PP-97 in Chiniot in favour of an independent candidate in the forthcoming elections, slated to happen on February 8.
Mukhar had decided to extend support to independent candidate Saqib Khan Chadhar.

Separately, former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Javaria Aheer joined the PPP ahead of the general elections, slated to happen on February 8.
The development came after Javaria called on PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari in Lahore.
