Renowned fashion and jewellery designer Asim Jofa lost his youngest daughter a couple of days ago to an acute illness.
Taking to his personal Facebook page, the designer known for his distinctive, rich and festive collections, announced on December 31 that his youngest daughter, Aira Asim, had passed away in London a few days after being admitted to a hospital.
Originally named Muhammad Asim, Jofa said in his post that his daughter had suffered a sudden brain haemorrhage and died after fighting for her life. He also asked for prayers for the baby.
"We only need your prayers for her and us during this difficult time," the designer posted.
Under the post, several of the designer's friends both from within and outside the entertainment industry expressed their condolences over the loss. Among those who commented were actors Aijaz Aslam, Mansha Pasha, Zahid Ahmed, Muneeb Butt, Junaid Khan, Shagufta Ejaz and Mohib Mirza, singers Shiraz Uppal Ahmed Jahanzeb, designer Maheen Khan and many others.
Mansha Pasha wrote: "So so sorry to hear this asim- have been praying for u all. May Allah rest her soul and give the family strength."
Mohib Mirza posted: "I am so sorry bhai, can't imagine the sorrow and pain you are going through, my prayers and deepest condolences."
Aijaz Aslam expressed his deepest condolences "during this incredibly difficult time", and prayed for strength and patience in this "incredibly tough time".
Muneeb Butt called the news "heart breaking", while Shiraz Uppal prayed for courage to bear this "irreparable loss".
Zahid Ahmed posted: "Very sorry for your loss. May Allah Swt bless her with the highest rank in Jannah and give patience to your family. Inna lilahe wa inna ilehe rajeun."
